Question: Can a high stress situation cause a permanent twitch?
Answer: Stress is a possible cause of eye twitching but it’s not really correct to say that a particular high stress situation would create a permanent eye twitch. This is because stress usually builds in us over time whereas most of the time a single incident is likely to fade after its conclusion. Of course, some stressful situations continue to plague us long after the fact if they’re severe enough. Even if that is the case though it’s not really that situation causing the stress anymore but rather your thoughts or feelings about it which are still stressing you in the present. In addition to those points I’ve never heard of a “permanent” eye twitch just ongoing twitching because of a failure to resolve the causes which in this case is likely continued stress.
